Chrissy Metz recently received a Golden Globe Award nomination for her role as Kate in the hit NBC drama "This Is Us."
An actress for a relatively short time, Metz was perhaps best known for her five-episode arc on FX's "American Horror Story: Freak Show" prior to "This Is Us." Other credits include "Entourage," "My Name Is Earl" and "All of Us," as well as the feature film "Loveless in Los Angeles."
Metz, who was born in Homestead, Florida, was discovered in Gainesville at a local talent event that she originally attended as a chaperone for her sister.
Metz currently resides in Los Angeles.
